ChippyCal is designed to be a practical, privacy-friendly calculator for carpenters. This policy explains how information is handled by the ChippyCal app and website.
The ChippyCal app
The ChippyCal app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. It does not use advertising, analytics, tracking technologies, or third-party data-collection software, and it does not require an account.
Information stored on your device
Calculator preferences, saved measurements, and cut lists are stored locally on your device so the app can work as expected. ChippyCal does not receive this information. Local app data may be included in a device backup if backups are enabled in your Apple device settings. You can remove local ChippyCal data by deleting it within the app or uninstalling the app.
Support emails
If you choose to contact support, your email address and the information you include in your message are received only so that we can respond and provide support. Support correspondence is not sold or used for advertising and is retained only as reasonably necessary to handle your enquiry or meet legal obligations.
Website mailing list
The mailing-list form on chippycal.com is separate from the ChippyCal app. If you voluntarily join the list, the email address you submit is processed by our email-list provider and used to send ChippyCal news and launch updates. You can unsubscribe using the link included in those emails.
External services
Links in the app or website may open services outside ChippyCal, such as your email app, the App Store, or other websites. Those services process information under their own privacy policies. Our website host may also process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the website; ChippyCal does not use that information to track app users.
Children's privacy
ChippyCal does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal data from any user, it does not create user profiles for children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if ChippyCal's features or privacy practices change. The latest version will always appear on this page with its effective date.
